Usage retrieving actual census data (counts or rates) for one or more geographies (by DGUID, from statcan_census_profile_search_geography) crossed with one or more characteristics (by code, from statcan_census_profile_search_characteristic), for a given gender breakdown. Multiple geography_codes or characteristic_codes are combined (every geography x every characteristic). Returns each value alongside its data-quality flag and confidence interval when the upstream API supplies one -- do not drop a flagged or interval-bounded value silently.

Each layer enforces its own maxRecordCount as a hard per-request cap regardless of result_record_count (6000 confirmed for 2021's Cartographic boundary layers); check exceeded_transfer_limit on the result and page further with result_offset if more features remain. Confirmed live: this host intermittently returns HTTP 500 on an otherwise-valid request (roughly one in three to five calls, a load-balanced backend with some unhealthy nodes) -- already mitigated by this client's normal retry behavior, so a rare persisting failure is a genuine outage, not a malformed request. The language comes from service, so lang has no effect here.

The result's available_filters lists extra narrowing dimensions this particular table supports beyond column_field/row_field (e.g. season: April/October, dwelling_type_desc_en: Row/Apartment for a Rental Market Survey table) - these genuinely change the returned values, not just a label; pass a subset as filters (e.g. {"dwelling_type_desc_en": "Row"}) on a follow-up call to narrow to just that slice. An unrecognized filter key/value raises a clear error rather than being silently ignored.
